Back in 2007, when George Floyd was 35 years old, he was the leader of a robbery where he and a gang of men forcefully entered a pregnant woman’s house. A clever scheme was thought out beforehand. To encourage the woman to open her door Floyd would pose as a water department worker. He dressed in a blue shirt to emulate the outfit of a worker, he then knocked on the woman’s door. The plan worked and she opened the door, but she realized quickly that Floyd wasn’t from the water department. She tried to close the door but George Floyd grabbed hold of it and held on. As he stood holding the door open, a Ford Explorer van with five of Floyd’s friends pulled up to the house. This, of course, was part of the plan, and they rushed the property. Once they had entered the house one of the robbers pulled out a gun and pointed it towards the woman’s pregnant stomach. As this was going on, Floyd started to search the house looking drugs, money, or jewelry.

This short true crime story shows that George Floyd was not the saint the liberal media and the democrats would like us to believe. Just like most other controversial police killings, this incident involved a person with a long and sordid criminal record. Another important factor in Mr. Floyd’s death was that he was intoxicated during the incident where he lost his life. This combined with a heart condition may have been the deciding factor in his death.

But the point of this article is to highlight that we shouldn’t glorify criminals just because they were killed by a policeman and happened to be black. The media, nor the public would ever glorify a white man with the same criminal history, and we shouldn"t either. Like Martin Luther King Jr said, I dream of a day when we are judged by the content of our character and not the color of our skin. In George Floyd’s case, we have judged him based on his skin color and only his skin color. He has been characterized as a hero and they are now naming scholarships in his name. Never ever, ever, would we be naming scholarships after a white meth head drug addict who died during an arrest. That’s a fact Jack. Let’s put an end to racism and let’s see George Floyd for who he was.
